I've also managed to replicate the issue using alternate versions of Samba (4.1.6) and Cups (1.7.2) installed on a Ubuntu 14.04.1 machine. A summary of the problem is as follows: Cups is configured and working as expected. WebUbuntu defaults to SMB1 when printing via SAMBA. We solved it by changing the way the client connects to our servers by forcing SMB2 or higher. To fix this, change the smb.conf (make a copy first!) There's definitely some issue with recent Windows Updates and I cant get my IPP (Cups) printers to work anymore. Haven't found a solution yet.
